BTS Star SUGA Is Now Global Ambassador Of NBA

Die-hard basketball fan, SUGA of BTS is named as a global ambassador for the rest of the 2022/23 season of the National Basketball Association. The NBA is one of the most popular sports leagues in the United States and Canada.  

The world-famous K-pop boy band BTS is not slowing down and is giving back-to-back exciting news to their BTS ARMY. Fans were so excited when BTS Jimin's announced his solo album FACE. But now with the news of SUGA's music comeback with his solo album, fans are filled with excitement. Cherry on the top SUGA is selected as the new brand ambassador of NBA, and the basketball and BTS fans are over the moon with excitement and thrill.  

Now, the BTS industry-leading music label BIGHIT MUSIC and National Basketball Association are collaborating. They have nominated the Korean songwriter, rapper, producer, and K-pop star SUGA as an NBA brand ambassador.

On April 6, a video was released on the official Twitter handle of the NBA, where they announced SUGA as an NBA Brand Ambassador.  

SUGA's words were:

"Music and basketball have been shared passions of mine since my youth, and it's a dream to be named an NBA Ambassador."  

The K-Pop star explained,  

"I'm excited to formalize my relationship with the NBA, and I can't wait to share some exciting collaborations I have planned with the league over the coming months."  

Meanwhile, Mark Tatum, the Deputy Commissioner of the NBA, showed excitement by saying:  

"We're thrilled to join forces with SUGA – a superstar musician, fashion icon, and passionate NBA fan. We look forward to working with SUGA to bring the same excitement he engenders from his global fanbase in support of our continued efforts to grow our brand."  

Further, he remarked that SUGA will also collaborate with NBA in his solo projects.  

"Additionally, the NBA will have a presence throughout SUGA's first solo world tour, collaborating around select concerts in celebration of the release of SUGA's debut solo album, D-DAY."  

According to NBA official website:  

'SUGA, an avid NBA fan, will participate in several league initiatives that will be featured on the NBA's and his personal social media channels, including attending NBA games and events in the U.S. and Asia, and participating in the league's promotional activities."  

The BTS star SUGA also known as Min Yoongi has been spotted wearing NBA jerseys and caps. Along with his musical talent, he is also famous globally for his passion and love for basketball and the NBA.  

A clip was shared by NBA in which SUGA was seen taking pictures with well-known NBA players on the court. He also joined NBA games on the court many times. Recently when a preseason match was played between Washington Wizards and Golden State in Japan he was there. He has shown his admiration for NBA players in several interviews and on social media also on NBABITE.  

SUGA has even been known to incorporate basketball references into his music. In a BTS global hit song 'Dynamite' he was seen wearing a 'Tune Squad' jersey which further showcases his fandom.  Even his stage name is also an inspiration by the sport.
